One pound at a time

Thursday, November 10, 2011

got on the scale two days ago and was excited to see that I lost a little bit over a pound. I think it would have been real bad if I had stayed the same or gained a pound. Walked around in the beginning of the week and did some pilates today. Slowly but surely.

Another Great Day

Saturday, November 5, 2011

I made it to the gym for another Zumba class today. My ankles are still killing me but I made it through. What I love about Zumba is that you don't realize that you are exercising. I'm looking forward to the scale next week.

Everything will kill you...

Thursday, November 3, 2011

Essentially that's what I'm starting to believe when every new study is telling me ordinary things will kill me. Lately, it's been the vitamins and supplements:

Today I walked for 1.5 miles and tried to jog in between. My feet are killing me but it's for a good cause so I'll take the heat.

The weekly weigh in

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

I finally got on a scale today after a few months. I'm 163 pounds. Since I'm short, it doesn't look good. The good news today is that I finally made it to the gym and took a Zumba class. I've also started taking my daily vitamins.

Losing weight... is that so hard?

Monday, October 31, 2011

It depends on who you ask. For me, it would be a yes. I know I don't have that much weight to lose but it still feels horrible not being able to do it. I'm usually not motivated and feel very tired just by the thought of trying to lose weight. I've tried
* the "diet" pills,
* the "diet" books
* currently have two gym memberships (haven't seen the inside of a gym in over 2 months)
* Weight Watchers
* all kind of dvds: pilates, ball, zumba, cardio, belly dancing and countless more

still nothing. I've decided rather than trying to lose all the weight at once, I will be making much smaller goals. My goal is to lose 8 pounds by Christmas; that's about 1 pound a week. I'm not trying to be an all-star but I do want to lose the weight so I can be more fit and have less health issues. The way I'm hoping to do this is by exercising at least 3 hours a week and watching my food intake ( I love sweets). I welcome posts of encouragement and tips to help along the way.
